— Brick-and-mortar store will offer collectibles and gadgets from big pop culture brands–

Syracuse, NY – Popular web retailer ThinkGeek will open at Destiny USA this week on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. with a grand opening event set for Friday, January 13, 2017. Specializing in geek gear, collectibles, apparel, and gadgets from pop culture phenomena, Think Geek will be located on the first floor across from Forever 21.

Founded in 1999, ThinkGeek is known for creating and sharing unique, authentic product experiences that appeal to geeky passions, stimulate imaginations, and fuel fans’ geek cores. From Star Wars light sabers to Game of Thrones tableware, ThinkGeek has something for every fan, delivering merchandise from a nearly endless number of well-loved entertainment brands. Online, the retailer also stocks a variety of items unrelated to any particular media name, including novel gadgets, goofy apparel, and other creative trinkets.

“Just in time for the gift-giving season, the new ThinkGeek store is a welcomed addition for the geek in all of us,” said Aiden McGuire, director of marketing, Destiny USA. “ThinkGeek’s fun, clever, and creative gadgets and gizmos appeal to fans and shoppers of all ages and interests, and many of these products are exclusive to ThinkGeek and can’t be found anywhere else.”

Since September 2015, ThinkGeek has shifted away from its traditional online-only model by partnering with its new owner, GameStop, to open stores across the country. Destiny USA’s ThinkGeek store will be among the company’s growing portfolio of brick-and-mortar locations, which currently includes 13 venues in seven states. While three stores in the New York City area are already on that list, Destiny USA will be home to ThinkGeek’s second New York location. Think Geek recently opened at Pyramid-owned Crossgates Mall in Albany, New York.
